"I find the great thing in this world is not so much where we stand,
as in what direction we are moving:
To reach the port of heaven, we must sail sometimes with the wind
and sometimes against it -
but we must sail, and not drift, nor lie at anchor."
- Oliver Wendell Holmes
Somewhat dazed, the once large wizard attempted to get his head around the fact that everything seemed so immense. His last recollection was hearing "Poof!..."
I read recently that by copying a painting or attempting to emulate an artist's style you get a feel for that artist and become a better artist yourself. I admire the artist, Bonnie, for her style and compositional ability. My painting above is a copy of her piece titled 'Wind Riders'. Hers was done in pastel and very large; mine is acrylic and 3' x 4'.

"In a coign of the cliff between lowland and
highland,
At the sea-downs edge between windward
and lee,
Walled round with rocks as an inland island,
The ghost of a garden fronts the sea."
- A Forsaken Garden (1878) - A.C.Swinburne
